CK's gone away again, and I'm still busy with work. And I haven't really been feeling inspired lately, so I don't know what to type here. Well, when CK was on this island, we went to some tiny unknown pub with his NS friends. Drank some Martell, and the noob CK got a little drunk. Me? I stayed sober. Primarily because I wasn't too crazy about the drink, so it was only 2 glasses.

Just been listening to Christina Aguilera's "Back to Basics". She's my idol! There's a song on the album which could be appropriate for Mother's Day, titled "Oh Mother". Unfortunately I don't know how to put the song here, so it's just the lyrics.

Oh Mother

She was so young with such innocent eyes
She always dreamt of a fairytale life
And all the things that your money can't buy
She thought that he was a wonderful guy
Then suddenly, things seemed to change
It was the moment she took on his name
He took his anger out on her face
She kept all of her pain locked away

Oh mother, we're stronger
From all of the tears you have shed
Oh mother, don't look back
Cause he'll never hurt us again
So mother, I thank you
For all that you've done and still do
You got me, I got you
Together we always pull through
We always pull through
We always pull through
Oh mother, oh mother, oh mother

It was the day that he turned on his kids
That she knew she just had to leave him
So many voices inside of her head
Saying over and over and over,"You deserve much more than this."
She was so sick of believing the lies and trying to hide
Covering the cuts and bruises
So tired of defending her life, she could have died
Fighting for the lives of her children

Oh mother, we're stronger
From all of the tears you have shed
Oh mother, don't look back
Cause he'll never hurt us again
So mother, I thank you
For all that you've done and still do
You got me, I got you
Together we always pull through
We always pull through
We always pull through
Oh mother, oh mother, oh mother

All of your life you have spent
Burying hurt and regret
But mama, he'll never touch us again
For everytime he tried to break you down
Just remember who's still around
It's over, and we're stronger
And we'll never have to go back again

Oh mother, we're stronger
From all of the tears you have shed
Oh mother, don't look back
Cause he'll never hurt us again
So mother, I thank you
For all that you've done and still do
You got me, I got you
Together we always pull through
We always pull through
We always pull through
I love you mom

Yeah, it's quite dark, but it could be my kind of song, because I can relate to it. And to my mum, even though you won't read my blog, I still want to tell you that I love you.

Well, to talk about the brighter things in life, I got more of those studio photos! Here's another one:

The hair makes me look kinda old, but I can't help but love curls! It's really fun to walk around with nice bouncy curls. Haha... And yeah, with the wonders of Photoshop, my braces are gone! Pretty cool... A preview of what my teeth will probably look like after the braces are removed.

Argh, I cannot stand Photoshop! Now I'm so envious of my photo, wishing that in reality, I won't have dark eye circles or zits. I won't lament the braces, since they're coming off soon. At least I'll be a wee bit prettier then.

Yeah I'm rather vain, and as much as it bothers me, I can't stop. So we'll just have to bear with it. Haha... Oh yeah, while we're on the subject on vanity, I'll blog about something that I realised recently.

You know that some people have got weight issues. Not the kind of overweight-for-real issue, but some who aren't fat but think they are, hence they go on crazy, unnecesary diets. As for me, I've got a height issue. I have feel-short days. I don't like wearing flats because I feel short in them. I know I'm not short (1.67m is quite average), but I feel short. And while having a really tall boyfriend gives that "sense of security", it also makes me feel even shorter.

But this is quite harmless lah. I've got a few pairs of stilettos, but thankfully I'm sane enough to wear them only on occasion. Been thinking about getting wedges. Oh well.

Weekends seem to be passing so quickly! Saturday is almost gone, and I won't be free on Sunday. Goodness, how will I be getting any rest at this rate? Looking forward to July, which is when the summer is in full blast, and I'll be having a nice long holiday. Wheee!
